When you wish upon a . . .

Yesterday I met a friend in the afternoon for coffee, which stretched to dinner, and by the time we parted it was dark. When we came out of the restaurant she looked up at the sky.

"Look!" she said. "Is that a star?"

"It looks like one," I replied.

"I hope it is," she said. "Because I really don't want to wish upon a satellite."

Yeah, me neither. I think there is so much left-over stuff in space now that we never know if it's a star or a piece of junk.....LOL

I was just going over Jiminy Cricket's lyrics to When You Wish Upon a Star, and couldn't think of anything pithy that rhymed with satellite. Except mosquito bite. So, yeah, always verify.

That's a line from a Billy Bragg song.
